Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Training Program Manager will be responsible for the oversight of the construction of on-site training programs (ex: gas city) including managing the redevelopment of training materials to reflect competency based training, collection of information for components that need to be built into the program, utility benchmarking on other similar program locations, partnering with the program Lead and Instructors in developing program specific materials as well as partnering with outside stakeholders (ex: Power for America) on scheduling training for gas, electric and generation work groups. Maintain budgets for program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all aspect of Training and education programs at construction of program location (gas city) – coordinating with facilities, gathering data from cross functional teams, staying within budget and staying on time
- Work with Power for America to schedule training for gas, electric and generation all while working within budget
- Work with Union Leadership as a part of the Power for America partnership
- Partner with OM&C for project planning of program
- Manage development of all training deliverables, including participant manuals, facilitator guides, slide decks, e-learning modules, and job aids/tools, selecting the most effective training methodology to meet the desired objectives
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Education, Engineering, or technical based and 2+ years of experience working with cross functional groups to see projects to closeout. Experience influencing stakeholders to come to a decision. Experience managing a budget.
- Associate's degree in Business, Education, Engineering, or technical based and 4+ years of experience working with cross functional groups to see projects to closeout. Experience influencing stakeholders to come to a decision. Experience managing a budget.
- High School Diploma and 6+ years of experience working with cross functional groups to see projects to closeout. Experience influencing stakeholders to come to a decision. Experience managing a budget.
Preferred
- Training Evaluation Expertise – Experience applying models such as Kirkpatrick, Phillips ROI, or similar frameworks to measure training effectiveness and drive data-informed improvements.
- Learning Analytics & Impact Measurement – Ability to design evaluation strategies, analyze learning data, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that improve performance outcomes.
