Spotlight Career: Journey Line Worker
Electric line workers are central to Consumers Energy's operations of delivering electricity to homes and businesses throughout our service territory. Rain, sleet, dead of night, it doesn’t matter. Our crews work hard to make sure you have safe and reliable electricity. That means keeping a close eye on 68,000 miles of electric distribution lines—enough to wrap around the world two and a half times.
Under general supervision, a journey line worker performs any duties required in the operation, maintenance and construction of the electric distribution, sub-transmission, transmission, communication lines and associated equipment. If you have all of the qualifications of a Journey Line Worker, including a certified journey card (equivalent to 4 years of experience as a line worker), we are interested in meeting you soon!
