Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for leading the organization's resources, related policies, and processes to ensure employees are able to meet enterprise requirements. The incumbent must possess both a broad strategic perspective and a strong technical foundation that, together, enable effective support of end-to-end processes. This role interfaces with employees, business unit customers, executive management, technology-related vendors, and other external parties, as necessary. The incumbent will assist with training development, job aid creation for acquired software, and the management of software rollouts and user adoption for acquired software and projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for providing guidance, coaching, and training to other employees within the job area.
- Drive the maintenance of the materials control system by scheduling and tracking materials through purchasing, receiving, material handling, raw materials and finished goods inventory, and shipping; develop warehouse layouts.
- Provide complex analysis of annual budget information; monitor expenditures; identify variances; and prepare leader reporting.
- Establish materials operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and assisting in the implementation of production, productivity, quality, customer service, safety, security, and operational standards.
- Lead inventory database management by ensuring accurate entry and updates of receiving, inventory, and shipping data.
- Other duties as assigned or as necessary.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Understanding of software acquisition and agreements.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- High attention to detail.
- Demonstrated judgment, maturity, and poise to interface effectively under challenging conditions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree in Business, Procurement, or a related field, with four (4) or more years of experience in a supply chain support role.
- (OR) High School Diploma / GED with six (6) or more years of experience in a supply chain support role.
