Location:

 

This is a hybrid position (remote/onsite), the candidate can be lcoated within 30-60 miles of the Jackson, MI Consumers Energy Service Center (relocation package is available if needed).

 

We are looking for: 

 

Senior Financial Analyst to join our Enterprise Risk team (ERM). In this position, you will create awareness of Corporate Risk by educating the organization on ERM principles, and coach risk owners to identify, measure and mitigate risks along an identified timeline.

  • A minimum of 5+ yrs. experience in an analytical position
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Statistics, or related discipline
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both oral and written communications, at peer level as well as with Middle & Senior Management
  • Ability to routinely meet commitments and deadlines and to handle multiple projects and make critical observations
  • Adept quantitative problem-solving skills

 

Preferred:

 

  • Experience as a market risk analyst, financial analyst with valuation experience, or quantitative analyst, preferred
  • Basic financial exposure

 

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Interface with internal clients (risk owners) to teach Risk Mgt. principles, and coach them on risk analysis, and Risk presentation techniques; be familiar with company operations and provide advice to risk owners on financial & reputational impact and likelihood assessments
  • Prepare risk analysis templates, and review data submissions; challenge status quo of risk owners, and mark up documents to reflect this; Review risk evaluation submissions with Executive Director, and provide the combined feedback to risk owners
  • Compile Risk Maps from Risk Evaluation documents; review internally with Risk Managers; Support Officer level presentations, publish minutes, and follow up on suggested enhancements and action items.
  • Compile Corporate Risk Map after all reviews are completed and develop Study Material for the Executive Director of Risk, prior to Board of Directors interface
  • Develop plans and timelines for smooth execution of Annual ERM program, as well as guidelines for time management within fast paced ERM reviews
  • Develop new Risk maps for Major Projects Review (MPR) in progress by collaboration/whiteboarding with Project owner, to highlight project execution risks; Support the annual update of such risk maps
  • Process and documentation reviews; assist ED in running meeting; coordinate monthly MPR schedules, and develop forward year MPR plan by canvassing; help update MPR process policy and documentation as needed
  • Develop an understanding of ENT's Business plans to evaluate their Business Development (BD) ideas, be familiar with Project Finance Valuation principles, Attend project kick offs, Review risk register/financial models to provide risk related feedback and develop visual aids like a comparative heat map of project risks; work with project owners from Enterprises to ensure that Risk register properly captures mitigation actions
  • Support the development of documentation of Internal and Management reviews as needed; Develop/update BD process policy and documentation as needed*
