This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Coldwater Service Center located in Coldwater, MI or Battle Creek Service Center located in Battle Creek, MI.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance (60 miles) or willing to relocate.  

 

 

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

 

The Project Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing new and existing project requests. The incumbent ensures the schedule, budget, and project details are managed effectively, and that tasks are well organized. A working knowledge of relevant project systems and programs is required. The Project Coordinator must efficiently prioritize and organize projects of varying sizes to meet customer needs, primarily by gathering customer work scopes and overseeing the project from initiation through design, scheduling, and field construction phases, driven by the customer’s required timeline.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain a storm role and assist with emergency operations and storm restoration as needed.
  • Participate in departmental problem-solving and waste elimination work.
  • Assist with maintaining departmental standard work.
  • Represent the department in cross-functional meetings.
  • Ensure communication and updates are provided to customers on a regular basis.
  • Monitor and respond to inquiries from various business partners.
  • May be responsible for design, depending on geographic location, workload, and available design resources.
  • Prioritize workload to successfully complete projects and meet customer commitments.
  • Determine project scope and evaluate design requirements and system impacts.
  • Coordinate project work, including estimates of customer and system loads, generate tasks for other departments, provide cost estimates, identify required permits, and schedule work orders.
  • Serve as the primary contact with customers to coordinate assigned CMS Energy Utility projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Understanding of relevant rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to departmental functions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Consumers Energy electric tariffs.
  • Knowledge of SAP notifications and billing.
  • Knowledge of typical contract and agreement terms and language.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and nonverbally) with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, drawings, property descriptions, and plans.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize stakeholder requests.
  • Knowledge of LEAN operating principles.

 

Education and Experience

 

  • Associate degree in technical, scientific or business-related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting project work.
  • OR High school diploma with a minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting project work.
