Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the development of all training deliverables and multiple complex team projects on a daily basis by communicating with ID contractors, CE leaders and peers, enterprise wide, to ensure interim deadlines are met and projects remain on track
- Load courseware and documentation to the Learning Management System (SAP Success Factors/Workforce Connect), interlinking content to internal and external content, troubleshooting and problem solving issues as needed.
- Lead Project management activities including managing incoming project requests, conduct analysis of project/SME needs, develop detailed project plans, proposing training solutions and use visual and project management tools to ensure the efficient assignment of projects to the contractor team.
- Lead and train a team of contractors to ensure project deliverables meet CE Standards and best practices for experiential learning and adult learning theory.
- Lead the strategic mission, goals, and direction of the Instructional Design team by aligning with CE priorities, including the team's strategic role in learning and development.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Data analytics to strategize work load/project management.
- Proven problem solving and project management skills.
- Well-developed writing, research, and editing skills; familiarity with standard style guides.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends related to learning and development design and delivery, including mobile and social learning.
- Proven leader utilizing a caring and collaborative framework to empower team members.
- Knowledge and/or familiarity with adult learning principles, and the ability to apply instructional design principles to training development.
- Strong consultative skills; the ability to successfully interact with clients to assess needs and develop appropriate training solutions.
- Competency building courses in Articulate Storyline or other e-learning software.
- Experience with loading and managing courseware and documentation into a Learning Management System (SAP Success Factors/Workforce Connect).
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, adult learning or equivalent and 7+ years of experience in leading teams, instructional design, training program management, and training project management. Experience in assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing learning, performance support solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness.
- [OR] Associate's degree in Instructional Design, adult learning or equivalent and 9+ years of experience in leading teams, instructional design, training program management, and training project management. Experience in assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing learning, performance support solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness.
- [OR] high school diploma and 11+ years of experience in leading teams, instructional design, training program management, and training project management. Experience in assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing learning, performance support solutions, and evaluating program effectiveness.
Preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Articulate 360
- Experience with Learning Management Systems, especially SAP SuccessFactors preferred
