This position has opportunities to work in a virtual/onsite hybrid work environment.  Consumers Energy has facilities all around the state of Michigan (Lower Peninsula only).  Candidate must be located within 30 miles of a Consumers Energy Service Center OR willing to relocate.

 

General Summary

The Electric Contract Strategy group is part of the Contracts and Settlements organization within Electric Grid Integration and is responsible for implementing the Company's Clean Energy Plan including 1) competitive solicitations for the procurement of wholesale electric generation, 2) negotiations and development of power purchase agreements, and 3) compliance with the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978 ("PURPA"). This position is responsible for supporting various regulatory filings by drafting testimony and conducting and reviewing foundational engineering and economic analyses. In addition, this position will support the implementation of renewable energy solicitations and the Company's renewable energy supply strategy by provide engineering, analytical, administration, and negotation support.

  • Conduct and review foundational economic analysis
  • Support regulatory filings and reporting
  • Provide analytical support of commercial solicitations and negotiations
  • Support renewable energy supply strategy and experimental advanced renewable program

Requirements / Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college/university
