Location: This position is onsite at the Ludington Pump Storage facility located in Ludington, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain DCS and EDS systems/servers, including alarms, and historian data points; this requires an understanding of scripting and automation using Python, C, C+, or platform specific languages. Lead DCS integration initiatives across multiple control systems and facilities while also providing expert knowledge for new generation development.
- Design and work on the architecture and layouts of control networks, assign IP addresses and networks, and configure data links between different vendors and devices.
- Develop operator facing dashboards, perform troubleshooting, alarm management, and system maintenance to ensure real-time operations of the DCS systems.
- Ensure compliance with cybersecurity frameworks such as NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP), and FERC Standards of Conduct (SOC), working closely with IT security teams.
- Identify, scope and lead projects that require collaboration with cross-functional teams, while also developing the architecture required for upgrades and improvements to the DCS architecture and systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Office, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to interact with internal and external clients to identify, research and analyze situations to resolve highly advanced and extremely complex problems.
- Extensive knowledge and/or experience in utility practices and procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of value streams, process and systems the department supports.
- Ability to solve very complex problems, taking new perspectives using existing solutions, and innovating new solutions where needed, Lean principles.
- Facilitation, organization, project management.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to interact at all levels.
- Benchmarking and Best Practice Research.
- Self-directed
Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in related studies and 7+ years of relevant experience in processes, systems, and tools.
- [OR] Associate's degree in related studies and 9+ years of relevant experience in processes, systems, and tools.
- [OR] High School diploma and 11+ years of relevant experience in processes, systems, and tools.
- Experience with strategy, major project delivery, Agile methodology , business analysis, finance, business case consulting, and/or consulting with senior level roles.
