Location: This is a hybrid (virtual/onsite) position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Kalamazoo Service Center located in Kalamazoo, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the development process of all event plans, ensuring alignment with brand, corporate communications, and marketing goals.
- Partner with teams on new tool development, creation, and implementation.
- Coordinate with Marketing, PR, and Communications teams and liaise with Development and Sales departments on promotions, branding, and community opportunities.
- Implement best practices to maximize brand presence and consumer engagement in accordance with event strategy.
- Coordinate on-site activations, distribution, and visibility with event partners.
- Set, plan, and implement social media and communication campaigns and strategies.
- Provide engaging text, image, and video content for all social media and professional accounts.
- Organize and manage events to boost brand awareness in the community and respond to customers in a timely manner.
- Monitor, track, and report on feedback and online reviews to build relationships with customers, industry professionals, and journalists, and stay up to date with digital technology trends.
- Operate cross-functionally and with outside vendors to drive Consumers Energy's presence within Michigan.
- Manage event recaps and reporting, coordinate kick-off meetings, and lead 360-degree activation planning and alignment.
- Other duties as assigned or as may be necessary.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Community Relations, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or a related field with two (2) or more years of experience in Communications, Community Relations, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or an equivalent subject area.
- [OR] Associate Degree in Communications, Community Relations, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or a related field with four (4) or more years of experience in Communications, Community Relations, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or an equivalent subject area.
- [OR] High School Diploma or GED with six (6) or more years of experience in Communications, Community Relations, Public Relations, Business Marketing, or an equivalent subject area.
