Location: This position is onsite at the Jackson Generating Station located in Jackson, MI.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). 

General Summary of Job Responsibilities

 

The Supervisor Maintenance & Outage is responsible for planning and executing major outages and periodic outages, planning and execution of forced outages, planning and execution of capital projects. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Perform other collateral duties as assigned; includes filling in for the O&M Manager and Plant Manager as needed
  • Develop long lead material and service requirements for periodic and forced outages
  • Provide contractor construction (field) oversight for online or outage capital and O&M projects to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Help review and manage the site equipment list in SAP to ensure all equipment, parts, etc. are in the system and updated as required
  • Plan and track outage budgets and expenditures for cost control
  • Develop and maintain the site's long term maintenance plan and preventive maintenance program
  • Track and manage all outage schedules. Lead outage meetings with site leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and timely completion of outages
  • Assist in development of capital and O&M outage budgets
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary

  • Ability to understand complex contractual issues as they relate to plant operations and maintenance
  • Displays good judgment; willingness to take responsibility and initiative to make decisions within scope of responsibility
  • Knows how to organize people and activities for efficient work flow

Education & Experience

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Related field with 2 years in Hydro and electric generation, extensive experience in the use of personal computers and numerous software applications, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel

 

  • [OR] Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Related field with 4 years in Hydro and electric generation, extensive experience in the use of personal computers and numerous software applications, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel

 

  • [OR] High School Diploma with with 6 years in Hydro and electric generation, extensive experience in the use of personal computers and numerous software applications, including MS Outlook, Word, Excel
