Location: This is a hybrid position with required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Grand Rapids, or Lansing Service Center. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Strategy Consultant is involved in all aspects of the Business Plan Deployment Process in support of the organizations long term strategy and implementing lean operating systems to manage performance. The incumbent is responsible for facilitating the development of strategic initiatives while leading and delivering projects to achieve long & short-term objectives. Projects will vary in complexity and will require engagement from multiple stakeholder groups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in Business Plan Deployment (BPD) Process by facilitating the development of 1-2 year scorecards, establish key performance indicators (KPI trees), define metrics to manage performance, develop waterfalls to outline strategic plans, and create detailed action plans to manage the timely delivery of strategic initiatives
- Use lean operating systems to drive predictable outcomes on 1-2 year goals to include the development of effective visual management, structure operating reviews to evaluate the performance of KPIs at the right frequency & level of leadership. Responsible for supporting the prioritized delivery of data automation to drive efficiency
- Manage strategic initiatives to enable breakthrough performance in retail metrics; includes leading strategic projects resulting from third party or internal assessments and audits, develop and implement concrete and solid plans to drive effective cross-functional coordination and prioritization, coordinate the annual process and standards for the World Class Performance Measures portfolio, manage Rally Room activities, etc. Responsible for presenting findings, projections, recommended actions, statuses, risks, and impacts to leadership
- Participate in lean problem solving while demonstrating proficiency in the following capabilities: develop problem statements, leverage data to define problems, analyze processes, conduct root cause analysis, facilitate brainstorming, develop & prioritize countermeasures based on impact, design & conduct experiments, and implement mechanisms to track the impact to performance
- Identify & support the implementation of waste elimination & automation projects to maximize performance results and drive efficiency while optimizing cost and employee empowerment; includes education on waste elimination & cost optimization frameworks to develop capabilities across the organization

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Effectively organizes, prioritizes, plans, and executes work to expectation (time, scope & budget)
- Develop and manage strong relationships with peers, leaders, and clients
- Demonstrates ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple levels of leadership
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of waste elimination, lean, and continuous improvement
- Ability to coach leaders and deliver presentations through effective storytelling
- Embed lean operating systems (CE Way) into business operations to effectively manage performance
- Facilitate effective problem solving that results in performance improvement
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and highly complex problems to define and implement strategic initiatives
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Strategy, Management, or related with 2 years in facilitating strategy development, leading business plan deployment, implementing Lean methods, facilitating problem solving
- [OR] Associate's Degree in Business, Strategy, Management, or related with 4 years in facilitating strategy development, leading business plan deployment, implementing Lean methods, facilitating problem solving
- [OR] High School Diploma with 6 years in facilitating strategy development, leading business plan deployment, implementing Lean methods, facilitating problem solving
