Location: This position is onsite and may be assigned to any Consumers Energy Service Center located throughout Michigan's lower Peninsula .  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Resource Planner is responsible for creating and communicating a balanced monthly resource and workload work plan that meets business objectives and performance targets. The Resource Planner provides plan information that is used to develop a predictable schedule and financial performance. This position is responsible for identifying and escalating any resource gaps within the assigned business unit. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders, including engineering, operations, finance, and supply chain, in order to develop accurate work plans and ensure delivery of those work plans.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Forecasting, scheduling, and aligning resources with work.
• May own or lead projects for the business unit.
• Monitor, report, and provide analysis and feedback on key performance indicators.
• Partner with managers and peers, as well as cross-functional stakeholders, to create, maintain, and leverage best practices and strategy optimization.
• Perform resource planning functions for the assigned business unit.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Analytical skills with a proven record of producing deliverables on time, on schedule, and as scoped.
• Clear understanding of resource planning tools.
• Critical thinking: ability to raise vital questions and problems, develop effective solutions, and make sound business decisions.
• Demonstrated experience in real-time service level management, forecasting staffing needs, and scheduling, providing information to stakeholders for making operational decisions.
• Experience in data analysis and decision-making as required by the business.
• Flexible and adaptable; high capacity to work in an evolving organization and establish new processes.
• Results-oriented; high capacity to achieve a high level of individual performance.
• Utilization of lean principles.
• Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and implement change.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, or related field with two (2) or more years of experience working in a call center or applicable business environment that utilizes resource planning applications and methodologies. Experience with monitoring systems and real-time data analysis.
• (OR) Associate’s degree with four (4) or more years of experience working in a call center or applicable business environment that utilizes resource planning applications and methodologies. Experience with monitoring systems and real-time data analysis.
• (OR) High School Diploma/GED with six (6) or more years of experience working in a call center or applicable business environment that utilizes resource planning applications and methodologies. Experience with monitoring systems and real-time data analysis.
