General Summary

 

Oversees the HVD Lines Reliability program for a geographic portion of the state (currently would be responsible for one third).  Evaluates the condition of all lines within his/her territory area and develops an annual plan for the rebuilding and/or rehabilitation of the highest priority lines within his/her territory incorporating the findings of the HVD pole inspection program.  Creates SAP orders and Concept Approval documents for all work within the plan and works with other groups to get the work scheduled and completed, adjusting the plan as necessary until work is completed. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Perform ongoing evaluation of condition of all HVD Lines in his/her territory.  Inputs include annual pole inspection date, annual line inspection results (ground and helicopter) input from field personnel, reliability data (SAIFI, CAIDI and SAIDI).
  • Develop an annual plan for HVD Line Rebuilds, HVD Line Rehabilitations and Pole Replacements.  Inputs include condition evaluation (above), budget estimations for upcoming year, known system constraints, engineering constraints and projected crewing levels.
  • Create Concept Approval documents and work orders in SAP to support the annual plan. Create HVD Lines demand orders as needed.
  • Oversee execution of annual plan until work is complete.  Adjust plan as necessary to allow for issues with material supply, permitting, unforeseen system constraints, manpower constraints (engineering and field) and in-year budget adjustments.
  • Act as Company subject matter expert for HVD Lines Planning issues.  Prepare text and tables for EDIIP and rate case testimony.  Prepare and submit responses to discovery questions, interrogatories, etc.

  • HVD line construction methods

  • SAP data extraction
  • HVD drawings (WD 800s, lines data diagrams, patrol maps, construction lists, wiring configuration diagrams, substation wiring diagrams)
  • HVD Underground construction standards, methods, and techniques
  • CE budget process

 

Requirements/Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil from an ABET accredited college or university
  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience working with HVD construction and/or design
  • Understanding of HVD engineering requirements and construction methods, including underground construction
  • Must be comfortable with and know how to use HVD patrol maps, lines data diagrams, WD800 diagrams, substation WDs, construction lists and associated documents
  • Familiarity with budgeting process
  • Experience in SAP order creation and general ability to extract information from SAP
