Location
This is a hybrid position (remote/onsite) with minimum required onsite days on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday assigned to the Parnall Office located in Jackson, MI. The candidate must be within a commutable distance to the location or willing to relocate (relocation package is available to those who qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
The Executive Director of Strategy and Projects is responsible for the development and execution of CMS Energy supply chain strategy and sourcing execution, leading the strategic business office and sourcing teams. Responsible for understanding and monitoring the strategic implications of changes in the company's business environment, internal strategic consulting for senior executive team on high-priority assignments and performing on-demand supply chain analytics and due diligence. This role will benchmark market performance, industry intelligence, and develop strategic initiatives for optimum performance and P&L results working directly with business leaders and stakeholder. Responsible for the regulated strategic projects/ innovation team to research, source and create new supply chain offerings. Responsible for supporting supply chain strategies and creating new sourcing avenues for the company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build relationships with strategy peers in the utility industry and leading industry analysts. Understand the strategic implications from the business environment scanning process and recommend adjustments to CMS Energy's strategy as needed.
- Effectively lead the Supply Chain Strategy and Procurement teams, including researching, sourcing, evaluating, and executing innovative category strategies. Manage the overall project portfolio, ensure final approval and quality control, maintain client satisfaction, and support team development.
- Stay abreast of the company's business environment through an analytically rigorous signpost and scenario analysis process.
- Manage CMS Energy's strategic planning process by enabling effective decision-making related to the company's long-term strategy, including recommending changes when appropriate. Mobilize strategies across business units and partner with stakeholders to provide guidance for the annual planning process.
- Provide strategic consulting on supply chain assignments to the senior executive team. Manage teams that collaborate with subject matter experts throughout the company to develop robust analytical insights and recommendations. Partner with stakeholders to achieve clear and actionable strategic decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain or related field with a minimum of twelve (12) years of increasing levels of experience in leadership, business experience and/or executive level consulting.
- (OR) Associate’s degree in business, finance, supply chain or related field with a minimum of fourteen (14) years of increasing levels of experience in leadership, business experience and/or executive level consulting.
- (OR) High school diploma with a minimum of sixteen (16) years of increasing levels of experience in leadership, business experience and/or executive level consulting.
