Location: This position is onsite at the One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
General Summary of Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with functional subject matter experts to collect and describe operational and system processes, nodes, activities, associated inputs, controls, outputs, and mechanisms
- Prepare and publish formal architecture documents, produce architecture development plans and reports, and present staff actions to customers (e.g., white papers, briefings).
- Research, develop, document, and analyze enterprise architecture (including business, enterprise information environment, intelligence processes, and IT) to identify mission capability gaps, overlaps, and shortfalls
- Search, develop, document, and analyze enterprise, operational, and system architectures
- Determine and recommend architectural, IT, or process solutions and research and develop other architecture-related documents and plans
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
- Define and maintain enterprise IAM reference architectures, standards, and roadmaps
- Lead architectural decisions for authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle management, and privileged access
- Ensure consistent application of Zero Trust and least‑privilege principles
- Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and Application teams to design and review IAM solutions
- Govern IAM integrations across Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, PAM, CIAM, and SaaS platforms
- Provide architectural oversight for IAM initiatives, including modernization and cloud adoption
- Ensure IAM solutions meet regulatory, audit, and compliance requirements
- Translate business and security needs into clear, enforceable architecture standards
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to independently evaluate, select & apply information technology theory
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to lead complex, cross-functional teams for problem-solving initiatives
- Ability to solve complex problems; taking new perspectives using existing solutions
- Strong expertise in IAM concepts, including SSO, MFA, RBAC/ABAC, federation, identity lifecycle, and PAM
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity architectures
- Working knowledge of cloud IAM (Azure)
- Experience operating in regulated enterprise environments
- Ability to produce clear architecture artifacts, including standards, diagrams, and decision records
The following skills and experience may set you apart:
- Experience designing or implementing Zero Trust architectures
- Familiarity with IAM governance tools (IGA, PAM, CIEM)
- Prior experience as an Enterprise Architect or Lead Security Architect
- Experience supporting audit, compliance, and risk management activities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Enterprise Architecture, IT, Computer Science, or Related Field (Required) (2) two years in Experience with software architecture, solution architecture, software project management, SDLC, Java, SOA, UNIX, Linux, VMware etc.; Experience with constructing and presenting business case for infrastructure investment (Required)
- [OR] Associate Degree in Enterprise Architecture, IT, Computer Science, or Related Field (Required) 4 years in Experience with software architecture, solution architecture, software project management, SDLC, Java, SOA, UNIX, Linux, VMware etc.; Experience with constructing and presenting business case for infrastructure investment (Required)
- [OR] High School Diploma with (6) six or more years of relevant experience with software architecture, solution architecture, software project management, SDLC, Java, SOA, UNIX, Linux, VMware etc.; Experience with constructing and presenting business case for infrastructure investment (Required)
