DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

 

The Customer Analytics team is looking for an Automation Manager whose aim is to design, transform and efficiently improve the work processes for our own Analytics and Data Standards teams and the business partners we support. This Manager will lead a team of Data Engineers and RPA SME’s to identify and eliminate waste throughout the Customer Analytics department and beyond.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The Automation Manager will work within a team setting to:

  • Lead a team that will work alongside business partners, gain an understanding of the manual workflow, then find automated solutions to improve accuracy and eliminate waste (manual or otherwise).  Frames and solves highly complex problems in the face of ambiguous, contradictory considerations.
  • Lead a team to build critical data processing pipelines to solve ambitious challenges integrating our SAP and various systems.  Applies independent judgement to solve defined problems.
  • Leverage various continuous delivery practices to deploy, support and operate data pipelines.  Mainly follows defined procedures with some decision making within a set of clearly defined options.
  • Seamlessly incorporate and identify data quality, data reliability and efficiency into your day-to-day work as well as into the delivery process.  Mainly follows defined procedures with some decision making within a set of clearly defined options.
  • Advocate your data engineering expertise to the team, speaking at leadership meetings and increasing the overall awareness of robotic process automation and waste elimination throughout the Company.  Applies independent judgement to solve defined problems.

             

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICIATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics
  • R/SQL/Python/PowerBI/Azure Ecosystem/SAP HANA
  • Lean certification and/or experience with process improvement methodologies
  • Agile methodology

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to technically direct supervisors and front-line employees    
  • Strong understanding of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and the various programs and tools available     
  • Programmatic experience, including the ability to direct and guide solutions that the team may be stuck on             
  • Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience, including scheduling technologies and data pipelining (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Informatica, Apache)    
  • Understanding of relational databases (e.g. SQL Server, Oracle, SAP, SAP HANA, MemSQL)         
  • Self-motivated to make critical decisions to guide the team forward using information at hand          
  • Experience in Agile philosophy and Scrum methodology

 

HOURS AND TRAVEL

This position requires the individual work at least 40 hours per week with 90% of time spent in the office/remote. May be required to travel 1-3x a month for meetings at one of our centralized locations.
