LOCATION
This position is onsite at the Parnall Office located in Jackson, MI. The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify).
GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Corporate Strategy Consultant will help shape business strategy by working in cross-functional teams to define and deliver on the next phase of businesses, products, and solutions from conception to launch. They bridge the technical and business world by designing solutions to meet the customer's specific needs. Corporate Strategy Consultants work with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to support the development and implementation of business strategies to improve business success for Electric Distribution. Corporate Strategy Consultants utilize their knowledge of the industry to provide an impartial and unbiased third-party perspective to advise and guide senior leadership on industry trends, uncover and identify gaps or challenges, and make recommendations for solutions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support regulatory processes by helping to compose testimony and responses to audit and discovery questions throughout proceedings, as well as engaging stakeholders to ensure the Company’s strategy is understood to drive successful regulatory outcomes.
- Develop long-term growth strategies for the company, including identifying potential opportunities and risks involved in each strategy.
- Open doors with potential partners, discuss their business objectives, and present these opportunities to the team.
- Analyze the total addressable market and create financial models.
- Generate reports and analysis using data from multiple sources; distill work into succinct written communications with persuasive recommendations.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of all information, and effectively communicate ideas to senior executives, utilizing tools and presentations to reveal key findings and insights.
- Perform financial and business analysis on company strategy, develop insights, and recommend any necessary changes.
- Collect, maintain, and analyze benchmarking and other data related to the execution of the company’s strategy.
- Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and third parties to identify and design the minimum viable product/solution to solve the identified problem, optimizing for speed to market.
- Identify interdependencies and proactively solve issues with the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and implement plans for new products, services, technology, or marketing campaigns.
- Identify and analyze any challenges within the organization/department, identify and prioritize market opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy to develop appropriate solutions.
- Conduct analysis to draw insights into strategic decision-making, collect, maintain, and analyze quantitative data (signposts) related to the company’s business environment to aid in understanding the company's business environment and industry landscape.
- Work as part of a small, multi-disciplinary team to identify relevant information sources, gather and interpret data, interview company subject matter experts, customers, and industry experts; identify trends, perform financial, statistical, and scenario modeling, and incorporate learnings into the team's strategic recommendations.
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Advanced Excel modeling skills (skills with other modeling tools are a bonus).
- Advanced problem-solving skills (problem definition, problem structuring, etc.).
- Strength in effectively communicating with senior executives in both written and verbal communications.
- Experience with cross-functional teams.
- Team-first outlook, including building great working relationships with peers across functions and having a positive can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven project management experience with the ability to lead and deliver results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field with two (2) or more years of relevant work experience in engineering, consulting, finance, or other related fields.
- OR Associate’s degree in business, economics, engineering, computer science, or a related field with four (4) or more years of relevant work experience in engineering, consulting, finance, or other related fields.
- OR High school diploma with six (6) or more years of relevant work experience in engineering, consulting, finance, or other related fields.
