Location:
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid status of reporting to One Energy Plaza in Jackson, Michigan every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with home office flexibility on Wednesday and Friday.
We are looking for: Capital Markets Director
The Capital Markets Director executes the development and implementation of capital market strategy to support the company's growth initiatives and financial objectives, maintains investment records. The incumbent will ensure policies and procedures meet Company's objectives, needs and regulatory body requirements. Responsible for refining and executing on Company's funding strategy and managing the ecosystem of the company funding and banking partners to deliver securitizations and other financial vehicles to secure the best economics for the company. Partner internally with finance leadership, operations, legal and risk to provide markets/funding perspective on revenue forecasting, strategy and requirements.
The knowledge and skills involved with this position include but are not limited to:
- Proficiency with cash spreadsheet and investment software
- Ability to develop, analyze, and present financial reports
- Ability to supervise, train and mentor a team of financial professionals to drive optimal performance
- Strong technical, organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to champion and implement process improvements
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

- Bachelor’s degree with ten (10) or more years of applicable experience
- [OR] Associate’s degree with twelve (12) or more years of applicable experience
- [OR] High School Diploma with fourteen (14) or more years of applicable experience
- Experience with direct exposure to financial operations, investment and banking operations.
In this role, you will:
- Structure, analyze and execute on securitizations, facilities and other funding outlets to facilitate company’s rapid growth.
- Manage the relationships with company’s many funding and deal partners including investment banks, investors, rating agencies, lawyers and auditors.
- Prepare testimony, exhibits and workpapers to support Return on Equity (ROE) in both electric and gas regulatory proceedings inclusive of testifying, responding to audit/discovery requests.
- Collaborate internally with finance, credit and operations teams to provide a capital markets perspective into the FP&A and business strategy processes.
- Prepare board and executive level presentations to guide business strategy decisioning and reporting.
- Review policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted best practices. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures. Develop and monitor applicable policies.
- Manage daily working capital, project funds, and miscellaneous investment processes in accordance with Company policies and procedures (including evaluating alternative short and long-term borrowing strategies).
- Other duties as assigned or may be necessary.
