Location: This position is onsite at One Energy Plaza located in Jackson, Michigan.  The selected candidate must be within a commutable distance or willing to relocate (relocation package is available for those that qualify). 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Associate Platform Engineer provides implementation, management, and 2nd-level technical support services to staff and customers on hardware and software platforms. This includes troubleshooting basic infrastructure and application platform issues, which may involve collaboration with server, network, and information security teams. The role emphasizes automation to eliminate inefficiencies and enhance the overall user experience, while ensuring timely response and follow-up on internal and external support requests.

A key focus area for this role is supporting the SAP Platform Team (SAP BASIS), which serves as the digital core of company operations. The team is responsible for maintaining a stable, reliable, secure, and high-performing SAP environment that underpins critical business applications. The Associate Platform Engineer will contribute to the administration and support of SAP systems such as ECC, CRM, PO, Enterprise Portal, BW, BOBJ, DQM, Solution Manager, and the SAP HANA database. Experience in SAP BASIS system administration is essential to succeed in this role.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn and implement best practices for security and compliance
  • Document system configurations and operational procedures
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and incident resolution
  • Support infrastructure and/or application platform operations, performance monitoring, and alerting
  • Assist in deploying and managing application or infrastructure components in an on-premise or cloud environment
  • Other duties as assigned or as may be necessary

 

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Process documentation

  • Basic incident resolution
  • Basic troubleshooting

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • (OR) Associate’s degree with two (2) years of relevant experience
  • (OR) High school diploma/GED with four (4) years of relevant experience
