We are looking for:
The Associate Data Translator is a conduit between data scientists and decision-makers. They are skilled at understanding the business trends of an organization and are data savvy enough to be able to talk technology, data, and analytics and distill it to others in the organization in an easy-to-understand manner. The Associate Data Translator ensures that the customer insights generated through basic analytics translate into business value.
- Knowledge and/or experience in utility practices and procedures or in a relevant specialty area (e.g. Media, Marketing,..)
- Proficient in basic tools for analyzing/manipulating/joining large amounts of data
- Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders to identify, research and analyze situations to resolve basic questions and problems
- Excellent communication skills across a broad spectrum of audience types/members
- Ability to effectively translate business requirements to the necessary Analytics work plan
- Ability to translate insights and conclusions into actionable recommendations for basic questions
- Comfortable with metrics, measurements and combining them to draw basic insights
- Comfortable working to meet defined project deadlines
The successful candidate will be expected to work in a hybrid status of reporting to One Energy Plaza in Jackson, MI every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday with home office flexibility on Wednesday and Friday.

- Bachelor’s Degree in data analytics, business, strategy, or related field required
- Technical skills experience (e.g. PowerBi, SQL, or Python)
- Candidate must have the ability to self-define problems and take the initiative to identify steps to result in solutions
- Experience with requirements gathering
- Ability to clearly communicate data and analyses in audience appropriate manner to diverse audiences
- Previous experience in a role focused on delivering on data and analytics projects
- Worked independently to draw insights and recommendations
- Strong team and collaborative approach
Preferred skills:
- Data Analytics
In this role, you will:
- Help stakeholders craft questions to generate maximum business value using analytics
- Uses basic analytic tools and skills to conduct analyses to answer stakeholder questions
- Create compelling communications/stories that can be leveraged across audience types to help communicate the value of the initiative
- Work towards becoming a customer data Subject Matter Expert to help expedite analytics problem solving
- Focus on Solution Delivery
