The Manager ERM Commercial Operations oversees the technical aspects of the back office activities related to deal capture, billing, and customer management.  The manager supervises employees who support the software and customer service related to retail billing and collections, wholesale customer management, and metering .  The position also supports and represents the company in various aspects of the business related to submission of renewable energy plans and the company’s position on regulatory issues to State and local regulatory agencies.  The manager also works with internal groups to support development and sales activities in MISO, ERCOT, and PJM.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Managing the company’s daily involvement in stakeholder activities with the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), PJM, ERCOT, oversee and submit annual officer compliance submission. 
  • Managing Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) Filings: Renewable Energy process (Annual reports, Renewable Energy Plan), Capacity Demonstration, Regional Fuel Mix, Statistical Data Reporting on behalf of CMS Energy Resources
  • Management and CMS ERM Michigan.
  • Managing companies Green-e (CRS) facility registration, annual compliance, and auditing.
  • Analyzing the impact of MISO and stakeholder proposals, developing, and recommending the company’s regulatory position and response to the proposals, and developing and sponsoring company proposals at MISO and other venues 
  • Managing MISO and PJM Meter Data; ARR, FTR and RSP and all other required submittals)
  • Oversee and manage Retail Open Access system, customers data needs, invoicing, taxes, and reconciliation. 
  • Developing and supporting company MIRECS asset registrations and tracking, Naesbwry web Registry for Transmission Tagging. 
  • Budget for and manage various software platforms that enable ERM business
  • Oversee and manage personnel in data collection, refinement, and submission to internal and external stakeholders
  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences.    
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and web-based applications    
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal    
  • Knowledge of Electric Power operating model    
  • Knowledge of RECs and other environmental attributes    
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.    

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or other associated field required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Economics, or other associated field preferred
  • 4+ years relevant work experience required
