The Accounting Analyst oversees provision of general/sub ledgers, records, and financial reports, the preparation and analysis of different accounts, and the performance of general accounting functions. They will assist in maintaining accounting compliance by conducting research; reviewing data and assist with the preparing of GAAP and management  reporting by analyzing and providing information. Identifies and resolves variances between the company's system of record and subledger. The Accounting Analyst analyzes expenditures to validate appropriateness of charges. They will work closely with other teams, including Shared Service, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Operations, Risk, IT, Internal Controls external auditors and others as necessary.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Assists in the preparation of financial reports such as financial statements and management reports
  • Maintains and Tests internal controls, performs Budgeting and forecasting, Maintains Master Data, and Performs Revenue and Cost Accounting
  • Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
  • Performs account reconciliations and Balance Sheet variance analysis for assigned accounts; contributes to the financial reporting process through preparation of schedules supporting disclosures.
  • Performs the processing of month end close to ensure accurate financial records and timely preparation of the financial statements.
  • Prepares ad hoc reporting as needed to support research, studies, surveys and other ad hoc request
  • Processes transactions to manage the lease process, overhead allocations and other accounting transactions
  • Provides accounting guidance utilizing general accepted accounting principles(GAAP) and regulatory resources to direct proper charging of expenditures
  • Records monthly and non-recurring general ledger entries
  • Reviews accounts for proper set up and analyzes expenditures to validate the appropriateness of charging.
  • Reviews general ledger (G/L) to ensure all activity is properly recorded and general account analysis and reconciliations.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to obtain and use large data sets to analyze and solve problems
  • Able to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while adhering to deadlines  
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Knowledge and understanding of accounting software (i.e., SAP)
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles 
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving.   

Position Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline required
  • 2+ years Experience in accounting; working with general ledgers and financial reports required
