Department Summary

The JH Campbell Site Maintenance Department is responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution of online and outage maintenance work in accordance with the Generation Work Management and Outage Management Processes respectively. The JH Campbell Maintenance Department has the overall responsibility to provide and manage site maintenance resources in order to safely and efficiently maintain the Site’s generating equipment and associated systems.

 

Job Description/Responsibilities

This job vacancy is for the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor III position, located at Units 1 and 2 of the JH Campbell Site. This position will be reporting to the Unit 1 and 2 Maintenance Lead, and will have the overall responsibility for OM&C supervisory and work order planning activities associated with on-line and outage work associated with units 1 and 2, but will assist across the Site as necessary. The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor III performs several important functions that include the following: short and long term work order planning, parts and material procurement, overtime scheduling, maintenance plan creation, OM&C employee oversite. The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor is expected to participate in weekend on-call rotation, along with relief supervision across the site.

 

Requirements/Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of industrial electrical experience including 480V and 6.9KV systems equipment.

 

The following skills and experience will set you apart from others:

  • Bachelor degree with majors in Business, Technical or Engineering with an emphasis in electrical studies.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs).
  • Familiarity with PLC controls and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting most complex electrical equipment such as but not limited to motors, circuit breakers, switch gear, and other control devices.
  • Work order planning experience.
  • Experience in power plant industry highly desirable, especially fossil generation.
  • First Line Supervision experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Experience with other computer based software programs, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Candidates for this position shall have demonstrated communication and team building skills.

 

Essential Functions

Responsible for the organization, coordination, evaluating and supervision of employees assigned to the maintenance of a fossil fueled power plant.  Recommends proposed changes and enhancements to systems and facilities operation/maintenance, responds to complaints and requests for information, prepares and maintains reports of completed job orders and the status of jobs in progress.  Inspects jobs to check on work progress, assure satisfactory completion and plans new assignments, prepares requisitions for maintenance supplies, equipment and materials and supervises special projects as required.  Conducts regular safety meetings, participates as a member of safety committee; investigates and completes necessary incident reports and accident reports; maintains records, prepares and submits required reports for appropriate agencies.  Will develop, plan and implement preventative maintenance programs.  Plans work orders per the work management process. Regular attendance is expected. Attends internal and external meetings and provides support services in a legal and ethical manner.

Hours and Travel

This position requires the individual work 40 plus hours per week with time spent in the office or specific field locations.

  • Work may involve multiple shifts and/or unusual hours to support work through various events.
  • Requires employee to participate in an on-call weekend and after-hours support rotation
  • May require after hours response for both emergent and non-emergent events
