Department Summary:

This position is within the Learning, Development and Technology department and provides direct support for Technical Training and other groups by planning and scheduling training. This position’s primary responsibility will be supporting Learning, Development & Technology (LD&T) as a training coordinator and have additional duties supporting the LD&T function, which may include customer requested work, running reports, reporting out on various metrics, and additional administrative duties. Through planning of resources, materials, and associated equipment; work is organized and prioritized to create a timely and quality schedule that accomplishes operational goals such as commitments met, productivity, and accuracy through completion. Schedules are built using Lean principles and the CE Way management philosophy.

 

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Training Coordinator position builds a comprehensive schedule following established procedures ensuring all classes are scheduled and appropriate classrooms reserved to accommodate class sizes. The Training Coordinator will maintain awareness of multiple headquarters and provide recommendations to team members and managers on ways to improve scheduling processes and eliminating waste. Evaluate annual, quarterly, and weekly schedules to ensure we are resourced to meet the demands of the business.  Gather data from multiple sources to perform detailed analysis and provide explanations regarding workplan adherence (plan = schedule = targets).  Monitor, plan, and coordinate LD&T timeline workload weekly. The timeline is modeled to achieve optimal productivity, meet commitments, and deliver on operational and financial goals.

Coordinate materials with Supply Chain; equipment and vehicles with Fleet Services; and equipment and resources with external parties and other internal workgroups.  Communicate with Scheduling Team Leaders, Field Leaders, and other Training Coordinators.  Participate in weekly meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years of related work experience in the applicable field/department 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous leadership responsibilities

Completion of college level courses

Learning Management System experience preferably Success Factors

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Utility industry knowledge or experience

SAP experience

 

Essential Functions:

Performs complex tasks including establishing workload, organizing, and conducting assignments according to deadlines.  Provides technical support including the use of Success Factors, data submission, and project management.  Provides backup departmental support.  Prepares reports, and support material as directed.  Under general direction, prepares special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other areas of the company, etc.  Maintains confidentiality.

Performs or establishes procedures for functions and actions including records, tracking of information, maintaining logs/spreadsheets, and other similar technical support.  Ensures that requests for action or information are relayed to appropriate staff members; is furnished in a timely manner; notifies and escalates important or emergency matters.  Periodically evaluates process and program effectiveness and takes action to maintain continuous improvement.  Follows all safety rules and procedures and contributes to the safety of co-workers and the general public.  Participates as an active technical support team member by contributing to program development and organizational planning.  Receives and supports field calls to address questions regarding training and assist in troubleshooting.  Ability to learn and perform the duties of the job including learning new processes and software reflecting new equipment.  Successfully be able to evaluate alternative solutions and determine safest and most economical and effective ways to do business.  Willing and able to follow instruction, assist in training of co-workers, and cooperate with other employees and customers.  Performs responsibilities in a manner that clearly shows effective communication and cooperation and that promotes open exchange of information, respect, high ethical standards, and professionalism.

 

Hours and Travel:

Meet travel requirements of the position. Work a flexible schedule, which may include overtime.

Employee will occasionally be required to walk on uneven surfaces with loose gravel, mud, snow, and ice. Employee will be required to maneuver within confined spaces. Employee may be required to have specific arm, hand and finger strength and dexterity specific to job requirements.
